The OECD AI Principles are a set of guidelines which the OECD published in order to support in the safe and responsible development and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The OECD  published their Value Based Principles in 2019, and updated further in 2024. The purpose of these AI principles is to help guide AI developers and deployers in developing secure and trustworthy AI as well as provide policy makers with recommendations for effective policies.

Countries use these AI policies to help guide them when creating AI frameworks . This promotes interoperability amongst jurisdictions by bringing together nations in the quest for AI regulation.
